Meet the team

Jo Sarsby

Jo has travelled the world working for a variety of different broadcasters, primarily focused on factual and documentary grounds. She has been lucky enough to have been involved in some of television's most exciting and award-winning wildlife and documentary programme production.

Whilst working behind the scenes Jo has gained vast knowledge and this experience gave her a unique eye for talent. After spotting a gap in the market for factual presenters, Jo settled in Bristol in 2004 and launched Jo Sarsby Management. The agency has subsequently gone from strength to strength and now manages some of natural history’s greatest talents as well as across the worlds of history and archaeology.

Whenever Jo isn’t working, she is attempting to squeeze in long rambling walks and trips to the theatre.

Georgie Olesen

Georgie looks after all the marketing and PR engagements across the clients, whether that’s writing press releases, organising photoshoots, or whipping up a post for Instagram. With a background in marketing for talent agencies, TV, festivals, and theatre tours she’s a dab hand at promoting.

When she’s not scheduling social media posts, Georgie can be found covered in flour whilst testing ways to make the perfect fresh pasta

Tam Pearce

Tam manages the accounts for JSM and previously worked in a top 20 firm of accountants for 15 years as both a Business Services Manager, assisting SMEs with their accounting and taxation and a Forensic Accounting Manager, dealing with a variety of civil and criminal cases. Tam is a fellowship member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts and Association of Accounting Technicians.

In her spare time Tam enjoys baking, in particular special occasion cakes for family and friends, pyrography and reading crime, thriller and Sci-fi novels.

Haley Miles

Haley is Jo’s brilliant right-hand person who is the heartbeat of the office. She has worked at Jo Sarsby Management almost since it’s inception and knows the company and clients back-to-front. Haley oversees all corporate engagements and has her finger on the pulse of brand development across the clients.

Spare time is a luxury but any down time is spent trying to chase the sun ideally whilst watching reality TV... her guilty pleasure!

Yusuf Bashir

Yusuf Bashir joins the JSM team after several years experience working as a booking agent in live events. He cut his teeth in the music industry in his teens and twenties; promoting club nights and DJing across Bristol, London and Manchester.

You may have attended his events at Crofters Rights or listened to his regular show on SWU FM. He also co hosts a podcast, RepresentAsian, highlighting South Asian contributions to the UK music scene.

Downtime hobbies that don't include music are learning Spanish, HIIT sessions and pretending to understand crypto.

Rachel Barke

Rachel oversees a range of business opportunities for our clients - from working with Corporate Brands to Merchandise and Publishing. She has spent twenty years working with TV programme makers and on-screen talent to maximise commercial potential in their rights and brands, including roles at Channel 4, RDF Media and John Noel Management.

Robyn Thorpe

Robyn has recently joined the JSM team to work as a talent agent and support Jo with the clients TV engagements.

With a background in performing and passion for telly, Robyn is able to provide inside knowledge and personal experience to her role.

When Robyn isn’t managing the clients, she can be found watching theatre shows with her husband or visiting family across the South West.

Amber Defries

Amber joins the JSM team as our Assistant Events Agent looking after all the clients’ speaking engagements and festivals. Coming from a background in the music industry, having chiefly worked as an Artist Manager and record label consultant she lives and breathes live events.

In her spare time, you’ll often find Amber searching for new reads in a bookshop, hunting for the latest music releases, or in a cosy corner of her local pub!
