Meet the team
Jo Sarsby
Jo established Jo Sarsby Management (JSM) in 2004 and over the last 20 years the business has gone from strength to strength. It now represents some of the world’s best factual entertainment talent who have expertise in natural history, history, science, astronomy, climate change, and archaeology, to name a few.
Prior to JSM, Jo was a producer at the BBC Natural History Unit, making high-end factual television for more than 15 years. She was involved in some of television's most exciting, award-winning wildlife and documentary programme production and has brought this experience and creativity into the agency.
In 2024, Jo became the first agent to receive a Wildscreen Panda Award for Outstanding Achievement, recognising the impact she’s had nurturing the careers of some of the world’s most recognisable factual presenters.
Haley Miles
Haley is an hugely experienced Talent Agent with a wealth of expertise across the factual entertainment industry.
Having worked alongside Jo for more than 17 years, Haley has been involved in all aspects of Jo Sarsby Management – from tours, to talks to television – and has played a pivotal role in the growth of the business.
She currently leads on corporate partnerships, digital and brand development, and overseas our busy Events Team, who manage all our speaker bookings.
Clare Bean
Clare works closely with production companies and broadcast networks to manage our clients’ extensive TV, radio, and podcast commitments.
Famously organised, she has worked as a Senior Production Manager on a variety of series from BBC natural history landmarks inc. Planet Earth II, through to presenter-led series inc. Ice Age Giants, Tribes, Predators and Life in Colour with David Attenborough, to feature documentaries inc. the Netflix series Drive to Survive.
Her career has involved setting up and running UK & foreign filming, running complicated post production schedules, budgeting and working with international broadcasters including the BBC, Netflix, Sky, Apple TV+, Discovery, Nat Geo, CH5, and YouTube. This positions her perfectly to manage the complex and changing landscape of agency management.
Tam Pearce
Tam is a qualified accountant and manages the finances for Jo Sarsby Management.
She previously worked in a top-20 firm of accountants for 15 years as both a Business Services Manager - assisting SMEs with their accounting and taxation, and a Forensic Accounting Manager, dealing with a variety of civil and criminal cases. Tam is a fellowship member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts and Association of Accounting Technicians.
To relax Tam enjoys reading crime, thriller and Sci-fi novels. She also has an extensive Lego collection which she spends hours building and dismantling.
Anne Varley
Anne manages the Events Department at JSM. With a distinguished career as a line producer and production manager in television, she has successfully overseen a wide range of productions. Her extensive background spans both UK and international locations, managing budgets from small-scale projects to multi-million-pound productions.
Maya King
Maya’s background is in television production, specifically editorial and casting.
Having worked on a range of documentary and factual entertainment formats for major broadcasters including the BBC and Channel 4, Maya has worked in studios, on location, and in-house. Her experience includes developing story ideas, carrying out comprehensive research, sourcing contributors and filming locations, leading casting calls, cutting casting tapes and managing high-profile talent.
Creatively minded and a skilled writer and video editor, Maya manages JSM’s clients’ wide-ranging digital and social content, also producing bespoke written and video content that supports our clients in their future projects.
